What is Blackboard Learning System Vista Enterprise?

Blackboard Learning System (Vista Enterprise, Community and Content) is a learning management system (LMS) that facilitates the creation of online courses much in the same way that WebCT Campus Edition has for the last several years. Because of the merger between Blackboard and WebCT in 2005 many users familiar with WebCT will find the new product familiar in many respects as the system is an evolution of earlier WebCT and Blackboard technologies.

The new system represents a significant leap forward in capability thanks to new technologies and development that has taken place in the years after WebCT CE was developed. Blackboard will offer quite a few new features that will slowly be introduced during the transition process.
