What is your WebCT TA role?

The role of the Teaching Assistant for a WebCT course will vary from course to course. Depending on your instructor, you may have "WebCT Designer" access, "WebCT TA" access or "WebCT Student" access. For a description of each user access, read WebCT User Types.

To find out which access you have for a particular course:
  1. Log into your WebCT
  2. On your myWebCT page, look for the course that you are the TA for.
  3. Under the course title and below the instructor's name, you will see My Role. You will see whether you are a WebCT "Designer", "TA" or "Student" for that course.
  4. You can now choose the proper help resources.
    • Go to Designer Resources if your role is Designer
    • Go to Student Resources if your role is Student
    • If your role is Teaching Assistant, you can:
      • Manage student records (add or delete students, edit student information).
      • Grade assignements and quizzes.
      • Make full use of the communications tools (post to the discussion bulletin, send email with the Mail Tool)
      • View all content -- even content with "Conditional" status (See ***Selective Release Criteria for Pages and Tools) -- posted by the instructor.
